Peggy is 100% dependent on a ventilator and therefore requires twenty-four hour nursing services. We are blessed to have a portion of Peggy's daytime care provided by Peggy's famed volunteer ohana, aptly named "Peg's Legs". Our Legs are Peggy's amazing group of friends and family who "Share the Care".

However, as Peggy's paralysis has progressed, her care needs have increased, making it necessary for us to increase Peggy's professional nursing care and bring on supplemental care in the form of private hire caregivers. Her care is complex and requires one person totally devoted to her medical needs. Another set of hands is required for positioning, bathing, and many other activities. While Peggy's body can no longer move, her mind remains as active and creative as always. Our caregivers are her voice and her body, vital to her quality of life.
The out of pocket and co-pay expenses to care for Peggy each year in her home are astronomical, even with the help of 'Peg's Legs' and Peggy's medical insurance, hence the need for raising money with artwork sales and fundraising. We have been very blessed and are grateful for the ongoing support of loved ones and the community. Donations like yours have kept Peggy alive and in her home for the past 5 years.
