Beach Dreams

My intention in creating this scene was to include everything that I would enjoy in a day at the beach. while I was drawing this, I was speaking to my friend Keola Beamer who asked why I had never put his guitar in any of my paintings - so I did! Note the two-holed guitar to the right...Keola's trademark. I also added a full spread of local grinds including poi, papayas, poke, and pipipi. On my lauhala mat, you'll also see a nose flute, Hawaiian shell instruments, ipu, and ukulele. My maile lei and pareo have been tossed into the trees and I am off swimming in the deep blue sea.
