A Lei Never Forgotten
| These two koa bowls are filled with maile lei, intertwined with strands of 'ilima, 'awapuhi melemele (ginger), tiare, pikake, poepoe pikake, and kukui. The two gardenias are also used for lei making for very special occasions. As a watercolor artist, painting these koa bowls challenges me. |
