He Makana I'a
| One of Hawaii's ancient traditions is the wrapping and presentation of food in ti leaves, the package is called puolo. The hand-woven nets are used even to this day for reef fishing. The net is an excellent demonstration of negative painting, which in watercolor painting means forming the lighter shapes by using the darker color. |
