Na Kalo
| This is the last painting I finished before losing the use of my left hand to ALS in October of 2003. I had always wanted to paint taro and I have visited taro fields from Waipio Valley on the Big Island to Hanalei, Kauai. I find it significant that this last painting using my left hand portrays taro, or kalo, the staff of life of the Hawaiian people. |
