Pele's Glory
| Hawaii volcanoes seem almost mystical. Stories of the legendary goddess Pele permeate all of Hawaiian culture. It's hard to disbelieve her existence when you are lucky enough to witness an eruption like this. As a watercolor artist, I find painting lava and rock a wonderful exercise in contrast. I especially enjoyed painting this images because I used a lot of wet-into-wet technique for the lava itself. |
