Hanaiakamalama

The title of this painting is the Hawaiian name for the Queen Emma summer palace.   Queen Emma, wife of Kamehameha IV, often vacationed in this cool Nuuanu retreat.   Nuuanu is laced with auwai, which are ancient irrigation streams all flowing to the palace grounds. This summer palace is quite historic and I highly recommend that you visit this fascinating Hawaiian site. The gardens aren't to be missed.
