Lakeside Flowers
| Several years ago while visiting our family cabin in the San Juan mountains of southwestern Colorado, I sketched this little bouquet of wild flowers at the edge of Lake San Cristobal. The sketch sat in my portfolio for years until I rediscovered it recently. I finished the painting using a mouthpiece held in my teeth. I found the delicate lavender wildflowers enchanting against the background of the crystal cool lake and the pine forest on the shore. |
