| This painting reflects life on the island that I call paradise. It was commissioned for a hotel in 1992. My resources included photographs of Kona Village, which is "Heaven on Earth", located on the Kohala coast of the Big Island. The coastline is filled with natural fresh water springs, which form breathtakingly beautiful pools scattered throughout the rugged lava coastline. I used artistic license by adding a little grass hale and exotic flowers to the scene. This image was created as part of a diptych to accompany "Lagoon Retreat". |
